Broward Sheriff: Man Shot By Drug Dealer Over $5

LAUDERDALE LAKES (CBSMiami) - A Lauderdale Lakes man was gunned down by a drug dealer after the two argued over five dollars, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

It happened Saturday night just before 10:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of NW 38th Terrace.

The sheriff's office said Jaquin Donell Han, 28, went to the home of Michael Smith, 26, to sell him a bag of marijuana. Smith paid Donell and was expecting five dollars in change. When Han didn't hand over the money, the sheriff's office said the two argued and Smith punched Han in the face. That's when Han reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Smith.

Smith was rushed to Broward General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Moments after the shooting, the sheriff's office received a tip about the shooting and went to Han's residence where he was taken into custody.

Han was booked into the BSO Main Jail on one count of second degree murder.
