Good 4 You: Teen Battled Cancer, Now Gives Back To Hospital

MIAMI (CBS4) - This week's Good 4 You goes to a 13 year old boy who survived a brain tumor. The teenager came to a hospital in South Florida that specializes in taking care of kids and now he is helping out for a very special event aimed at helping kids just like him.

Jordan Mollere, 13, was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was growing in the middle of his brain. The treatment included 4 weeks of radiation.

"They had to put a mask on my head. It had to fit perfectly or something would go wrong," said Jordan Mollere, who stayed active during recovery.

Eventually, Jordan's family returned to South Florida where they once lived to seek further treatment at Miami Children's Hospital.

Feeling better, he is giving back to the hospital's foundation by preparing for this year's Diamond Ball. With each gift bag he stuffs, he knows funds are being raised to help kids just like him.

"He never complained the entire time through all the treatment and everything he went through, he was so amazing," said Marcia Mollere, Jordan's mother.

The Diamond Ball gets attention honorees have included Dwyane Wade one year and Beyonce another. Last year, our own Marybel Rodriguez also took center stage to share her success story as a former patient.

"They have helped me out so much. I know what they can do with everybody. They can help so much in everybody's lives," said Mollere.
