Hollywood Man Charged In Child Porn Investigation

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – A Hollywood man is behind bars in Broward's main jail after he was charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

Last September a Hollywood detective, who is part of the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, began an investigation after learning that child porn was being shared on a peer to peer network. After accessing the network, he found a person posting that they were offering to share videos of underage children engaged in sex acts with adults.

The detective traced the poster's internet address to 65-year old Rickey Masters who lived in an apartment in the 1700 block of Lincoln Street.

Last Thursday, police moved in an arrested Masters who reportedly admitted to downloading child pornography on his computer. A forensic search of the computer and an external hard drive uncovered more than 2000 files, many of which contained child pornography involving children under 12 years old.

According to Masters' arrest affidavit, detectives also found child porn on several CDs in Masters' residence.

Masters was taken into custody and is being held on $55,100 bond.
