Gruden Re-Signs With ESPN Until 2016

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Miami Dolphins fans and owner Stephen Ross were hoping to land a big name coach at the end of the current season.

But, the coach reportedly at the top of Ross’ list is likely off the market. That’s because Super Bowl winning coach Jon Gruden signed a five-year contract extension with ESPN Monday.

Gruden is a key member of the Monday Night Football crew along with Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski. The group has already earned two Sports Emmy Award nominations for their work together.

Gruden was a fiery head coach with the Oakland Raiders from 1998-2001 and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2002-2008.

  1. SC says:

Shoulda made a better run at Harbaugh, and Brees over Culpepper for that time, or Matt Ryan when they went 1-15…Whats next? 10-6 playoffs with Wansteddt looking pretty good now!

    Good stuff, SC!

How long can I hold out, or “in”, I should say?

The Daufins have a tough row-to-hoe tonight against the much hated ‘Jet nation, can we do it?

I love Gruden, and Jaworski on ESPN by the way (you can never have enough ‘Skis).
