Broward College's North Campus Cancels Classes

COCONUT CREEK (CBSMiami) – Some students who take classes at Broward College's North Campus got a free day off on Monday.

The school announced on their website that due to a power outage on the North Campus, there will not be classes held through 5 p.m. An update about evening classes will be made Monday afternoon.

Florida Power and Light spokeswoman Sarah Mermion said an underground line was affected by the heavy rainfall. The line belongs to the school and not FPL.

Student Services offices and operations such as testing, admissions and financial aid are open and functioning as regularly scheduled. And health sciences classes in Building 41 will take place as regularly scheduled.
