Miami-Dade County Opens 311 Service Centers

MIAMI (CBS4) – Access to information in Miami-Dade County just got a whole lot easier with the opening of 311 Service Centers at three major County hubs.

The locations of the 311 Service Centers are the South Miami-Dade Justice Center, North Dade Justice Center and the Permitting and Inspection Center.

The Service Centers will provide customers with a much more convenient way to access County information and service without having to make a trip downtown.

The Centers offer both in-person and do-it-yourself customer service options.

Residents can take care of County errands using self-serve options like a touch-screen kiosk for making payments to the County, scheduling service or searching public records and maps, as well as a phone that connects directly to the 311 Answer Center.

The South Dade location will have a full service transit vending machine that accepts all forms of payment.

For in-person service, a staff member from the Miami-Dade County Department of Community Information & Outreach will be on hand to assist residents with general inquiries, referrals, purchasing items such as baby stroller permits, dog tags, transit passes and more. Staffers at the North Dade and Permitting Inspection Center locations will handle transit pass sales.

311 Service Centers are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and close for one hour at lunchtime.
