FIU Getting Healthy For Duke

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Coming off the first loss of the season, the Florida International University Golden Panthers are hoping to have two of their best players back on the field this Saturday.

FIU is set to take on the Duke Blue Devils in the homecoming game for the school. But, FIU quarterback Wesley Carroll was hobbled by a sprained ankle last weekend and star kick returner/wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is continuing to deal with a strained right hamstring.

FIU head coach Mario Cristobal told CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald that Carroll will be fine and that "T.Y. continues to get better."

Hilton tried to give it a go last Saturday, but only caught three passes for 32 yards and played sparingly throughout the first three quarters.

FIU was lit up by Louisiana-Lafayette's passing offense last week. Still, the Golden Panthers are ranked 35th in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 19.8 points per game.

FIU will take on the Blue Devils at FIU Stadium on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The game can be seen on television on ESPNU.
