Boil Water Order Ends In Hialeah

HIALEAH (CBS4) – You don't have to worry about boiling your tap water before drinking it in parts of Hialeah this weekend, after, after a 2-day boil water order caused by a contractor's mistake was lifted Friday night.

The boil water order was in effect for these areas: West 84th Street (also known as Northwest 138th Street) to the North, Okeechobee Road to the South, from Red Road to West 36th Avenue (also known as Northwest 97th Avenue).

The Miami-Dade Water Sewer department tested samples from the area and found them all safe to drink, permitting the lifting of the boil-water order.

The order was issued as a precaution after a contractor working at Red Road and West 60th Street in Hialeah punctured a water main almost 5 feet wide Thursday. Water service was shut down to the area to make repairs was restored hours later.
