'Suspicious' Bag Found In Miami Downtown Area

MIAMI (CBS4) – The Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office was evacuated after someone reported a 'suspicious' bag by the building.

Miami police called in their bomb squad unit which used a specially designed robot to probe the duffle bag in the 1300 block of NW 14th Street.  After using a small explosive to open it, the robot turned the bag this way and that so that its camera could get a look inside at the contents.

When it was deemed safe enough to approach, members of the bomb squad opened it by hand and found a pair of pants, a shirt and some papers.

Police suspect the bag many have belonged to a homeless person.
