Woman's Body Found In Car In Lauderhill

Lauderhill (CBS4) – Yellow police tape draped part of a Lauderhill apartment and its adjacent parking lot Tuesday morning after a woman's body was found in a car in the lot.

Chopper4 over the apartment building, located in the 5200 block of NW 22nd Street near the Turnpike, spotted two police investigators gazing into a gold Toyota Corolla in the lot. The only other car in the lot, which has space for six vehicles, was a blue compact with a blue tarp draped over its rear window.

Police have released little information concerning their investigation but confirmed that the woman's body was found in the back seat of the Corolla. They don't believe she lived in the area.

"She started crying, when she called she was crying," said Quinton Burrell whose mother found the body.  "Somebody's life was taken and to make it worse, they dumped the body in her front yard."

Burrell said his mother usually parks in the spot where the Corolla was found but hasn't been able to do so since over the weekend.

"She decided to check in it and there was a girl in the back seat, she said, with a shot in the head," said Burrell.

"Right now we don't know anything," said Lauderhill police spokewoman Captain Constance Stanley.  "We have not indentified who this individual is, investigators are trying to determine that at this point."

A check of the car reveals that it had not been reported stolen; police are investigating the woman's death as "suspicious" at this time pending the outcome of the Medical Examiner's report.
