DAVIE, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – A school fight at Nova Middle School Thursday ended with one child taken to the hospital.

According to Sgt. Rob Choquette of the Davie Police Department, the fight started Thursday evening between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The fight was between a 12-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy.

The 12-year-old choked the 11-year-old unconscious, according to Davie Police. The 11-year-old was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but is expected to be alright.

The 12-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the juvenile assessment center. He faces a charge of simple battery.
