Police Seek Kendall Sex Assault Suspect Caught On Surveillance Video

KENDALL (CBS4)  - Late Friday afternoon, police released new video of a man and woman walking out of a popular Kendall lounge because, police say, the woman in the video is a rape victim. They consider the man in the video a suspect.

It all happened on June 16th at 3:45 a.m. Police say the woman had just left the Blue Martini Lounge at a shopping mall in Kendall: The Palms at Town and Country.

She walked out with the man into the parking lot and, police say, she was later abducted in a white Ford Econoline van.

Police say the man seen in the video is the driver of the van.

It's a scary thought for young women who are out having a good time.

"I don't walk alone. That's the number one thing," said Jehnny Rivera, who says that just last year on her 23rd birthday, she was mugged after a night out in another Miami neighborhood.

After hearing the story about the Kendall attack, she has advice for other women.

"After that, I'm very careful, you know it's daylight, there's a lot of people make sure there's people around, make sure you're in a lit area," she said.

Police say the woman in Kendall wasn't so lucky and they hope you can help identify the man in the video. Police describe him as being between 25 and 35 years old, at least 5'8" with a medium to heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

If you know anything, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
