FIU Ready To Expand To Brickell & Miami Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Florida International University already has over 40,000 students enrolled this year, but the school isn't ready to stop there.

According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, FIU will open two new branches in Miami-Dade County in Brickell and Miami Beach.

According to the Herald, the Brickell building will house graduate programs in business, public administration, and global governance. The Miami Beach program will be on Lincoln Road and offer up programs including architecture, music, visual arts, and other programs still to be decided.

Currently, FIU has campuses in West Miami-Dade, North Miami, centers in Sweetwater, Pembroke Pines, The Wolfsonian-FIU in Miami Beach, and a site in China, according to the Herald.

The addition of the new branches should increase FIU's student population to nearly 50,000 students by the time both are opened.
