Report: Fins Re-Sign CB Will Allen

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – After getting burned for a 99-yard touchdown pass by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, the Dolphins cut ties with Benny Sapp, leaving a hole at cornerback.

The team wasted no time in replacing Sapp with a familiar name to Fins fans. According to profootballtalk.com, the Dolphins have re-signed Will Allen to be the team's third, or nickel, cornerback.

Allen reportedly signed a one-year deal with the team and is expected to be on the practice field on Wednesday. Allen will be prepped to play in Sunday's week two matchup with the Houston Texans.

Allen had previously been cut by the Dolphins on the final roster cutdown day before the start of the regular season.

Allen has played for the Dolphins since 2006, but missed most of the last two seasons trying to recover from injuries.
