More Watches & Warnings Issued As TS Maria Moves West

MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Maria continues to move westward as new watches and warnings are issued.

At 11:00 p.m., the center of the system was located about 430 miles east of the Windward Islands and moving west at 21 mph.

Maximum sustained winds are holding steady at 40 mph.

The NHC says the system could restrengthen Friday night into Saturday.

In advance of the system, a tropical storm warning has been issued for St. Maartin, Guadeloupe, Saba, and St. Eustatius

A tropical storm watch is in effect for the islands of Antigua, Anguilla,  Barbuda, Montserrat, Nevis, Saint Kitts, St. Barthelemy, St. Marteen, Martinique, Dominica, the British Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, including Culebra, and Vieques, .
