Reason To Shop At Fashion's Night Out
MIAMI (CBS4) – Fashion is coming to South Florida in a big away. Thursday evening, Fashion's Night Out kicks off with a series of runway shows, after-hours shopping and plenty of cocktail receptions.
The shopping initiative driven by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour returns for a third year Thursday.
Fashion's Night Out started in 2009 in New York as a way to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence and boost the industry's economy during the recession. Now the event extends to 250 U.S. cities and 18 countries.
Several cities across Florida will participate in this international shopping party, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville. More than 65 retailers in the Miami area are taking advantage of the event.
At the Aventura Mall, the festivities will be highlighted by `Decades of Passion for Fashion,' a runway show featuring styles from the past. More than 75 stores will also offer everything from live music to discounts, gifts with purchase and other promotions.
Dadeland Mall is inviting all Miami fashionistas to celebrate the global initiative 'Fashion Night Out.' Fashion divas will enjoy a fashion vignettes show of fall/winter collections from their favorite stores featuring the newest and next in accessories, clothing and shoes.
Bal Harbour Shops will celebrate with chefs' tastings, live music, dance classes and special-edition merchandise.
In Miami's Design District, storefronts will offer a combination of culture and luxury with its home stores and art galleries.
The Village of Merrick Park will host live music, complimentary cocktails, food, discounts, gifts with purchase and a fashion show.
The Falls will have fashion vignettes, cosmetics demonstrations, food and cocktails.
Online retailers have also joined the celebration for the first time this year, allowing shoppers to enjoy special promotions at more than 200 e-commerce sites.

Want to attend Fashion for Charity on September 17? Fashion for Charity presents their third annual event of fashion and live entertainment, showcasing avant garde fall and winter collections at the Moore Building located in the heart of Miami's Design District. It will be an evening of glamour and cocktails in support of a great cause. Funds generated from this year's event will benefit two non-profit organizations that help women and children who are local victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse.
