FIU Looking To Knock Off Louisville

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Florida International University is heading to Louisville to face the Cardinals just a week after the Panthers pasted the North Texas Mean Green.

Louisville is coached by former University of Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. He's in his second year with the Cardinals and is emphasizing his team can't look past the Golden Panthers.

Strong is focusing his attention on FIU's T.Y. Hilton. FIU is building a Heisman Trophy campaign around the all-purpose Hilton.

Against the Mean Green, Hilton put up a national-best 283 all-purpose yards, which is just 12 shy of the school record he also holds. Hilton finished the game with seven catches for 132 yards, 49 rushing yards on just two attempts, and 92 yards on two kickoff returns.

FIU is looking to reverse a long history of struggles against BCS teams. The schools have never met, but FIU has played Big East teams six times in the program's history.

The game can be seen live on ESPN starting at 7 p.m. This is FIU's second appearance on ESPN, the last being a victory in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
