Irene Knocks Out Pair Of Marlins Games

PHILADELPHIA (CBSMiami.com) - The Florida Marlins had already postponed one game with the Philadelphia Phillies as of Friday, but with Hurricane Irene rampaging across the northeast, Saturday's game is a washout as well.

The game had originally been scheduled for Sunday, but was moved up to Saturday afternoon as part of a split-doubleheader. The move was an attempt to get the game in ahead of Irene's impact on the area.

The night game was postponed Friday night and both games will be made up as a split-doubleheader on September 15.

The postponement could be particularly tough on the Phillies. Starting Monday, the Phils play 33 games in 31 days to finish off the regular season.
