Tebow Laughs Off Shapiro Bounty

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Lost amidst the dearth of allegations by Nevin Shapiro was that he put bounties out on opposing teams' players. But, one of those players is now laughing off the reported bounty.

Former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow was reportedly the target of a $5,000 bounty from Shapiro. Tebow faced the Canes just once on Sept. 6, 2008. Tebow threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns and ran 13 times for 55 yards.

Tebow chuckled at the report and said he didn't remember any unnecessarily rough hits from the Canes and said he didn't know about the bounty until Yahoo! Sports' report was released Tuesday night.

Shapiro told Yahoo! that he put a bounty on Tebow that day and had a standing, three-year bounty on the head of former Florida State quarterback Chris Rix.
