Crowder Critical Of Henne, Ireland

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has never shied away from the microphone, and Tuesday he leveled a tough critique on both Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne and general manager Jeff Ireland.

Crowder said that he's going to sit out the season and praised Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano. The story was different when he was asked by WQAM's Joe Rose.

"I played with him a couple years," Sparano said. "He really hasn't proven anything to me when I played with him and now being on this side, looking down on him as a fan, he's not impressing me, either."

Sparano was asked about Crowder's comments Tuesday afternoon, but wouldn't answer questions about Crowder's critique of Henne.

"I'm not going to, I've been round and round on this thing, you guys know how I feel about Chad," Sparano told the press.

Crowder was more critical of Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland who has been under fire for never addressing the quarterback position.

"Everytime I said something crazy, he'd call me up and fine me $5,000; ten thousand when I said something real crazy," Crowder told WQAM. "Me and him really never were on the same page."

Crowder said he hopes to play again next year after the birth of his new child. He said that was the driving force behind his decision to retire.
