Will Allen's Job Could Be In Jeopardy

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Based on the performance of the Miami Dolphins' defense last Friday, no one's job should be safe. But one Fins player may be in danger of getting cut, and he didn't even step on the field against the Falcons.

Nickel cornerback Will Allen has been struggling to overcome a hamstring injury and hasn't practiced in more than a week, according to the Palm Beach Post. Combine that with the improved play of fellow cornerback Benny Sapp and Allen could be in trouble.

Sapp made an impressive interception against the Falcons and has remained healthy throughout training camp. On the flip side, Allen hasn't played in a game for the Dolphins since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in the sixth game of the 2009 season.

If Allen can't get healthy and come back to overtake Sapp in the lineup, the Fins will likely have cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Sean Smith as starters, with Sapp at the nickel cornerback spot, and Nolan Carroll, Nate Ness, and Jimmy Wilson playing as backups and special teamers, according to the Post.
