Santa Ana Market Fire

MIAMI (CBS4) – Corrugated metal security doors hampered Miami firefighters’ efforts to put out a smoky blaze inside a small market.

The fire broke out Monday morning inside the Santa Ana Market at 12th Avenue and NW 28th Street.

Arriving fire crews found thick yellowish smoke billowing into the sky from the roof and the building’s vents. When they went to fight the flames their efforts were blocked by the store’s security doors. Using pry bars and a circular saw, it took several minutes before they were finally able to cut through the doors and attack the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
