Dog Owner Pleads For Return Of Stolen Puppy

MIAMI (CBS4)- A South Florida woman is asking for the public's help after she said her daughter's puppy was stolen by two men who broke into her home.

Kadina Suri said she doesn't want to tell her 9-year-old daughter her puppy was stolen.

"If they're getting him to fight they'll make money but that's my little girl's little dog," Suri said.

After Suri and her family left for work Thursday morning, she said that's when two men broke into her home. The dog was taken from the Westchester area of Miami between 48th and 56th St. Right off 97th Ave.

But Suri believes the target was their 13-week-old American Bulldog, Ribbons.

"They wanted the dog so they probably just came in, saw what they can, grab real fast and took off with the Wii, two little monitors and the iPod," she said.

The puppy was in the backyard when the burglars swiped him, according to Suri.

"We noticed there are dent marks that were not on the door," Suri said.

Suri wants to find Ribbons before her daughter, who is out of town, returns next week. She named Ribbons for the ribbon-like white birth mark on the top of his head.

"She usually sends me a text every night that says, 'Goodnight, mommy. I love you and don't forget to sleep with Ribbons,'" Suri said.

Even more frightening, Suri believes the two men were watching her and her family.

"They have been watching us for a few days to know when we come in when we come out," she said.

The family is doing all they can to get their puppy home. They even created a Facebook page called "Rescue Ribbons."

They said along with the distinctive marking on his head, Ribbons also has a white mark on his paw that looks like a sock.

Suri and her family are desperate to find Ribbons. A $100 reward will be offered to anyone who returns Ribbons safely home.
