Ramirez Day-To-Day After Injury

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez has battled issues all season, whether at the plate or with his overall motivation to play. Now, Ramirez will miss a few games after spraining his shoulder Tuesday night.

Ramirez was hustling on a play in the sixth inning when he dove for a ball and sprained his left shoulder on the play. Hanley had hit a double in the fourth inning to raise his season average to .243.

Even with the injury, Marlins manager Jack McKeon doesn't expect Ramirez to miss any more than two or three days of action. Ramirez has had surgery to repair a torn left labrum in 2007.

"I fell, it went out, came back in," Ramirez said, according to CBS4 new partner the Miami Herald. "It's something I haven't dealt with for a while after the surgery. Hopefully, it's nothing bad and I can come back quick."

Ramirez has been on a tear since McKeon came back to manage the team; he's hit .304 with 6 home runs and 28 runs batted in.
