Gov. Scott Gets Busy At Tampa Donut Shop

TAMPA (CBS4) – Borrowing a page from former Florida Governor Bob Graham's play book, Gov. Rick Scott rolled up his sleeves and got busy Wednesday morning on his first "workday."

Scott donned plastic gloves and began packing strawberry sprinkle doughnuts in a box at Nicola's Donuts and Bakery.

During Scott's so-called "workdays" the governor said he will spend time working jobs with regular Floridians. Scott said he plans to duplicate the type of jobs he had while growing up — which included working in a doughnut shop.

The governor is picking up on a theme made famous by Graham who began doing "workdays" when he ran for office in 1977.
