Ross Says Fins Believe In Henne

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Before the Miami Dolphins took to the field Friday morning to begin practicing for the first preseason game; owner Stephen Ross talked to the media about the quarterback situation, his expectations, and what he wants to see from the franchise.

Last year, Ross predicted the Dolphins could go to the Super Bowl with the roster the team had, but this year, Ross is singing a different tune.

"I'm not gonna make predictions," Ross said, according to the Palm Beach Post. "Just believe we have the nucleus of a great team."

When it came to the much ballyhooed quarterback situation, Ross said that he doesn't see "anybody that outstanding that's an upgrade from Chad." Ross continued by saying "we still believe in Chad (Henne)."

But, Ross still may not exactly grasp how to become a winner in the NFL. According to the Miami Herald, Ross gave a long statement that implied the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers "are much better than we are and we're really a lagger to them."

The Jets have been to the AFC Championship the last two seasons in a row and the Pittsburgh Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls since the Dolphins last won the big game after the 1972 season.
