LAS VEGAS (CBS4)- Police have identified a Las Vegas couple who died in an apparent suicide pact outside the same Florida church where they married 40 years ago.
A pastor found 60-year-old Bruce Wright and his 57-year-old wife, Patricia Wright, Sunday morning beneath a tree behind Friendship United Methodist Church in Florida’s Charlotte County. A shotgun and rifle were nearby.
Police said the husband was dead on the scene and the wife died of her injuries Tuesday at a hospital.
The couple’s nephew, Daniel Johnson, tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the Wrights had no children and rarely kept contact with family members. He says Patricia Wright was most recently employed at a hospital and Bruce Wright was working in sound production.
Johnson said the family doesn’t understand why the couple committed suicide.
