Parents Of Boy Found Alone On Street Charged With Neglect

MIAMI (CBS4) – The parents of a North Miami toddler found wandering the streets alone on Saturday have been charged with neglect.

Miami-Dade police said the 2-year old boy was found around 3 p.m. at the intersection of NW 153rd Street and NW 7th Avenue. Police canvassed the area but were unable to find his parents or anyone related to him. The boy was then turned over to the Department of Children and Families.

Six hours later the boy's father, 41-year old George Frye, called to say his son was missing.  According to police the boy wandered off while his mother, 37-year old Pascale Martin, was supposed to be watching him in their residence in the 700 block of S Biscayne River Drive.  According to the police report, Frye is the father of 22 children with five different women.

Late Saturday the boy was turned over to family members. A hearing will be held this week to determine if he should be returned to his parents.
