MIAMI (CBS4) – The Magic City is about to celebrate its birthday. The City of Miami turns 115 years old in an all-day celebration on Sunday.

Happy Birthday Miami is an annual celebration honoring the city’s history.

The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mary Brickell Village, 901 South Miami Avenue.

Party-goers can take part in food tastings provided by Mary Brickell Village restaurants and live entertainment.

At 11:00 a.m., at the Downtown Miami Residents & Visitors Center, Mayor Tomas Regalado will be presented with a portrait of Mary Brickell by artist Winsome Bolt, which was created for the 3rd Annual Miami Beach Woman’s Conference and donated to the City of Miami.

Festivities include singing ‘Happy Birthday Miami,’ at the main stage, located on South Miami Avenue and 9th between Rosa Mexicano and PF Chang’s at 6:00 p.m.

A 2,500 birthday cupcake masterpiece will be presented and enjoyed by all attendees.

All proceeds of the event benefit Bike Miami Days 2012, which will feature a monthly Bike Miami Day January through April 2012.
