Palm Beach Man Shot, Killed Teen Intruder

GREENACRES – A Palm Beach County man reportedly shot a knife wielding intruder who broke into his residence early Sunday morning.

James Fritz, 19, entered the home about 4:15 a.m. Sunday, according to Greenacres Police Capt. Gina Abbananto, by breaking a window in the kitchen door. He then reportedly grabbed two large kitchen knives.

The noise of the breaking glass woke the homeowner. Investigators said when he encountered Fritz, the teen made a move toward him with the knives so the homeowner shot him.

Fritz was killed. Police have not said if the homeowner will face any charges.
