Sketch Released Of Man Wanted For N Miami Shooting

NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) - North Miami police have released a sketch of a gunman they said shot a man during a robbery attempt in an apartment building's parking lot.

It happened Friday night around midnight at the Casa Bella Apartments in the 13000 block of NE 6th Avenue.

According to police, 28-year old Geam Gonzalez, who works as a security guard at the apartment building, and 54-year old Julio Vasquez, who lives in the building, were approached by an armed man who demanded Gonzalez's wallet and cell phone. Vasquez intervened and began to struggle with gunman. During the struggle, the armed man shot Vasquez several times and then took off on foot.

Vasquez was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center where he remains in critical condition.

The armed attacker was described as being 30-32 years old, 5'8 to 5'9 in height, 150-160 lbs.  According to police he had a medium afro along with upper and lower gold teeth.
