Price At The Pump Up A Dime In Florida In The Last Week

MIAMI (CBS4) – The price at the pump has jumped more than a dime in the Sunshine State since long Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Nationwide, gas prices have risen about seven cents in the last week to an average of $3.64 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to GasBuddy.com.  In Florida, the price increase has been about 11 cents in the last week to the current average of $3.61 a gallon, according to the American Automobile Association.

In Miami-Dade, drivers have seen the price at the pump jump nearly seven cents in the last week to an average of $3.72 for a gallon of unleaded regular.  A year ago, the price of unleaded regular in the area averaged about a buck less at $2.74 a gallon.  Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach are the most expensive place to fill up in the state.

In Ft. Lauderdale drivers are paying about $3.69 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded compared to $3.62 a week ago. Last year at this time regular unleaded averaged $2.70 a gallon.

Orlando gas stations have some of the cheapest prices in the state, unleaded regular is averaging $3.53 a gallon.
