Hollywood Woman's Body Pulled From Apartment Pool

HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) - The body of a Hollywood woman was pulled from an apartment building's pool early Tuesday morning, now police are trying to piece together the events which led to her death.

According to Hollywood Police spokesman Lt. Norris Redding, Tyerra Anderson, 20, lived in the building in the 900 block of Hillcrest Drive.

Redding said according to witness statements Anderson and the second female, possibly a cousin, were drinking with two men around 3 a.m. The two men left but reportedly received a call a short time later from the second woman who said Anderson was dead.

Both men returned to the apartment building and called 911, which contacted Hollywood Fire Rescue.

When rescue personnel arrived, they found Anderson's body lying next to the pool. Redding said he didn't know if the men or the woman pulled the victim's body from the water.

Tuesday morning, police were still trying to determine what happened, but neighbors said police had some people in custody.

"I walked out this morning and I saw about nine or ten cop units out with two gentlemen in handcuffs," said neighbor Lamont Edwards. "Later on, they brought a young lady out in handcuffs as well."

Police are waiting for the Medical Examiners report to determine the cause of death, but are currently working the case as a drowning.
