Girl Killed, Five Injured, In DUI Crash

TAMPA (CBS4) – A five-year old girl was killed, three other children and two adults injured, in a five vehicle crash in Tampa.

The accident happened when Rolando Rojas, 52, tried to drive his Ford pickup between two stopped vehicles on Friday.  The truck side-swiped both vehicles then hit a van and another vehicle before it overturned.

All six people inside the van were injured. A 7-year-old girl sustained serious injuries, and two other girls suffered minor injuries. The 25-year-old driver had minor injuries and a 29-year-old passenger was seriously injured.  A 5-year-old girl died Saturday afternoon.

The other drivers and occupants were uninjured.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Rojas received minor injuries and has been charged with driving under the influence with serious bodily injury.
