MIAMI (CBS4) – When the University of Miami Hurricanes take the court this fall, they’ll be doing it without standout center Reggie Johnson. The 6’10”, 305 pound center tore his meniscus Monday and after surgery Thursday, will be out five to six months.
Johnson injured the knee during a pickup game with teammates, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald. The Canes are hoping that Johnson will be back in time for the Hurricanes to start Atlantic Coast Conference play.
As Johnson recovers, head coach Jim Larranga said the Hurricanes will turn to 6’11” Florida transfer Kenny Kadji, 6’10” Julian Gamble and Raphael Akpejiori to fill the void.
