HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) – If your plans call for you to be on the Florida Turnpike late Wednesday night in the Hollywood area, you may want to start considering a ‘plan B’.
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise said all southbound lanes of the turnpike will be closed from Griffin Road to Hollywood Boulevard for construction. The closure will begin at 11 p.m. and the lanes should be re-open by 5 a.m. The best alternate road would be State Road 7, east of the turnpike.
The closures are part of a $1 million project to install signs which will display real-time traffic information to drivers. The project, which calls for ten signs on the highway in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, is expected to be completed next year.
