MIAMI (CBS4) – Singer Paulina Rubio was charged with disorderly conduct after a run in with Miami police over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon Rubio’s silver Mercedes got into a collision with a white Mitsubishi near the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and 8th Street. When an officer arrived on the scene Rubio, who lives on Miami Beach, was standing by her car on the busy street. The officer then asked her for her driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. Rubio got in her car and retrieved her license and registration.

When the officer asked her to step onto the sidewalk for her safety, Rubio reportedly told him she wasn’t getting out of the car and then started making phone calls. According to the police report, the officer repeatedly asked Rubio to step out of her car and she repeatedly refused. The report states that she grew more agitated and started screaming at the officer that “I just had an accident and I’m very nervous. That’s why people don’t like you, because all of you Miami police are abusive.”

A second officer arrived and tried to calm Rubio down to no avail; she still refused to get out of her car.   When the officer told her if she didn’t get out of the car she would be charged with refusing to obey an order, the report states that Rubio replied “You are going to regret this.  I’m going to call attorney.”

She was then arrested and placed in handcuffs. As she was being led to a police car, the report states that Rubio screamed to onlookers “Help! Help! I didn’t do anything. Look what they are doing. Help! Abusers! You bunch of liars. Help!”

After about an hour, the report states that Rubio calmed down.  She was then charged with refusing to obey an order, obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct. She was released on an order to appear in court.

Rubio was launched in international stardom with her 2000 album “Paulina”.

She’s an idiot. Who does she think she is, oh that’s right a nobody. Just a crummy singer.

  2. Andres Silvano says:

What a knuckleheaded diva wannabe! People don’t understand when a police officer gives you a lawful command it’s for safety reasons for everybody involved, and for her to refuse to obey a lawful order indicates she was trying to throw her weight around. The only problem is, she only weighs 115 lbs. soaking wet!

  3. Jane Doe says:

She should be grateful it happened here and not in Mexico. Could you imagine the outcome if she acted in the same manner there.

    1. Samuel says:

I wouldn’t bet on it, most probably she would had bribed the cops in Mexico.

  4. Frank Cates says:

I mean like what right do the police have o treat her like an ordinary person. I mean don’t they know she’s a star? I have to admit she is one of the bravest people I’ve ever heard of. Standing in the roadway on 8th street. You’re a better man than I am Gunga Din.

  5. Delasangre says:

She is not an idiot?. She just got nervous, that’s all. I’ve seen it worst from other people graduated from Harvard with a PHD. LOL

  6. Paulina's Agent says:

Everyone puts their pants on one leg at a time and she is NO different. It shouldn’t matter if your a celebrity, a regular person or the Pope. Obey the rules and you will have no issues. Evidently, she must think differently. The police should of used a stun gun on her after she made that “Miami Police are abusive comment”.

    1. Samuel says:

The cops should have dropped her off in Liberty city instead of taking her to jail, that way once she dealt with in Liberty city she’ll be crying her a@# off calling for police assistance, that will definitely change her aspect towards the police.

  8. li verastegui says:

just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you’re above the law… as they would say in Mexico.. nervous??? talk about an excuse; what’s so hard about getting out of your car???
