Police ID Bicyclist Killed In Early Morning Hit & Run

NW MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) - Miami-Dade police have few clues to go on as they search for the driver in a deadly hit and run accident.

Early Sunday morning a man on a bicycle, identified as 43-year old Francisco Caro, was riding along NW 32nd Avenue when he was sideswiped by an older model gold Oldsmobile near 83rd Terrace, according to traffic homicide investigators.  Caro was slammed into a fence before falling to the sidewalk, he died on the scene.

After the crash, a witness who did not want to be identified in this report, said the man got out of his car.

"He looked back, I thought he was going to come back, he took a couple of steps, then he stopped, he jumped in his car and took off," said the witness.

A Miami-Dade traffic homicide investigator said they recovered chips of paint from the car and an emblem.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
