Cameron Diaz Dishes On 'Bad Teacher' Role

MIAMI (CBS4)- Cameron Diaz takes on a raunchy role with a zest playing Elizabeth Halsey, the ultimate bad teacher.

Diaz's role in the movie Bad Teacher, opening Friday, is a parent's worst nightmare when it comes to who's sitting at the head of the class. She drinks, gets high and has one goal only: to marry rich.

"How much fun was it to even get this role?" asked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo

"It's so much fun… I can't even tell you." Diaz said. "I feel so honored to be a part of this movie. It breaks so many molds in so many ways".

Diaz said her character doesn't apologize for who she is.

"To play a character that does such horrible things the first half of the movie and then you expect her to apologize and she never does," she said. "She gets to the end and she is who she is and she has no conscience about it.

Halsey is bad to the bone. What's her mission? To get new breasts is beyond despicable. She makes no apologies about it and for Diaz that's what makes her so much fun to play.

"The fact that she only ever wears heels to school, she doesn't want for  a second  for anyone to mistake her for a teacher," Diaz joked. "She doesn't go to school to teach she goes there to nap and that's where she catches up on sleep from the night before" laughed Diaz.

Diaz said she wanted to do the film because of its comical benefits.

"You make a movie… a comedy to make people laugh that's your goal," she said. "It's so gratifying to be a part of something that you accomplished… what you wanted to accomplish, which is to give people a good time, enjoy  themselves and just have a real laugh. We need to be able to do that and I feel like we gave that to people."
