MIAMI (CBS4) – A popular appliance and electronics superstore chain is about to give South Florida’s Best Buy and Brandsmart stores a little competition.
hhgreg plans to open 10 stores in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties this summer.
Workers are already setting up the vast merchandise. But what can consumers expect?
“What makes us different is that great price but also the personal experience that you’re going to see,” CEO Dennis L. May said. “We carry over 110 flat panel televisions, we carry over 400 appliances and we offer same day delivery. So if you come in and pick out an appliance today, when we’re open, we’ll be able to have that product in your home tonight.”
The company has already hired 600 people and is still taking applications.
Eric Roche of Miami joined the company in November
“It’s a great opportunity for different people to get a job and provide for their family,” he said.
The stores expected to open include:
Ft. Lauderdale: 1750 N Federal Hwy US 1, Ft. Lauderdale
Pembroke Pines: 11810 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines
Sawgrass: 12300 West Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise
Aventura: 19925 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura (just north of the Aventura Mall)
