Mom Claims Toddler Found Wandering Alone In Miramar

MIRAMAR (CBS4) – The mother of a toddler who was found wandering the streets all alone Monday morning is on her way to the Miramar Police Department.

According to Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues, the young boy, named King, was found near SW 27th Street and 83rd Avenue around 9:35 a.m.

Police said he was approximately two-years old. He was found wearing an orange Rocawear T-shirt and pull-ups and has a congenital birth defect to his left hand.

After the child's picture aired on local news broadcasts, the mother called Miramar Police. Once at the station, she'll be interviewed by police and the Department of Children and Families.

Police said the mother was on the second floor cleaning the carpet while two ten-year-olds were watching the younger kids, both aged 2. The older kids thought King was with mom.

It wasn't until a relative saw King's picture on the news and called the mother 3 hours later.

Police aren't expected to bring nay charges and said it was likely just an accident.
