BOCA RATON (CBS4)—Late night drivers on Florida’s Turnpike near the Palm Beach County line should start planning an alternate route for the next three days.
The turnpike will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. just south of Glades Road.
The closures are part of a $1 million project by the state to replace eight message boards and also add two new ones in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. These message boards give drivers information about current traffic conditions, emergencies and other situations.
Northbound drivers should expect to be rerouted west on Sample Road to State Road 7, then back to Glades and onto the turnpike. Southbound drivers will be detoured west on Glades onto State Road 7, then east on Sample leading to the turnpike.
Drivers should expect similar closures in coming months as more signs are replaced.
