New Sex Assault Lawsuit Filed Against Doral Golf Resort & Spa

DORAL (CBS4) – Another sexual abuse lawsuit was filed Thursday against the Doral Golf Resort & Spa by a woman who claims to have been sexually assaulted during a massage at the Marriott Resort luxury spa.

This brings the total number of lawsuits against the luxury resort to five.

The newest lawsuit, filed Thursday, June 16th by attorney Jeffrey Herman, alleges the woman was assaulted during a massage in the spa, which is also affiliated with the Pritikin Longevity Center.

The woman accused masseur David Munoz, 27, of sexually assaulting her in September 2010. The suit states the victim reported the assault to the spa manager the same day but Munoz continued to work at the spa.

Another woman filed suit against the spa after she claimed she was also sexually assaulted by Munoz, after the September 2010 incident.

This is the third out of five lawsuits involving Munoz who has already been criminally charged for assaulting multiple female clients.

According to Thursday's filing, Munoz was also accused in a 2008 police report of sexually assaulting a young woman during a massage while working for another employer.

A second masseur, John J. Pacheco, has also been accused by two other women of sexually assaulting them during a massage in 2010. Those women also sued the resort. The status of Pacheco's criminal investigation is unknown.

After the first incident, Doral Golf Resort and Spa released this statement:

"The authorities are currently investigating the matter. We are cooperating fully during the investigation. Because this is an ongoing investigation and we respect the privacy of all our guests and associates, it would be inappropriate to comment further."

Through its public relations agency, Pritikin denied any connection with the incident.

"While Pritikin leases space at the Doral Resort for its medical, fitness and dining facilities, and uses the spa facility for its customers, Pritikin did not employ the massage therapist, and the customer was never a customer of Pritikin," the company said in a statement. "Pritikin does not own, operate or manage the Doral Spa, and does not employ any of its staff."
