Dania Beach Teen Escapes Sexual Predator

DANIA BEACH (CBS4)—A 13-year old girl just barely escaped a sexual predator Tuesday night in Dania Beach.

The teen had walked to a convenience store on the 3400 block of Griffin Road to buy candy around 10 p.m. on June 14th.

As she was walking home through an open field, a man snuck up from behind and pulled her towards a tree while trying to remove her pants.

The girl kicked the suspect and was able to escape without harm. She told her parents as soon as she got home and they reported the attack to the BSO.

The suspect was described as a black male, dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask of the same color. He was about 5'11'' and stocky.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact BSO Detective Eric Hendel at 954-321-4240 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
