Police Probe Shattered Glass On Process Server's Car

MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami-Dade Police are trying to determine what caused the window on a county car to shatter, causing injury to the process server inside.

"She is in stable condition. Doctors are trying to manipulate her arm to determine whether or not to remove fragments from her arm or they're going to keep it inside," said Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m.  Thursday. Police originally thought a bullet shattered the glass, but are now trying to determine if it was just road debris.

The SWAT team was called out to a nearby building to determine if a shooter fired the gun from inside one of the nearby apartments. All residents in the building had to be evacuated.

It is not know if the process server was serving papers at the building

The injured woman was treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
