Miami City Ballet Dancers Trade Leotards For Heat Gear

MIAMI (CBS4) - Winning the NBA Finals is a 'delicate dance' and both teams need a legion of fans to really get behind them.

On Thursday CBS4's Jorge Estevez found a group of ardent fans in a most unlikely place.

"I just think it is so fun to watch the game, it is so athletic, it is just so impressive," said self proclaimed number one die hard fan Rebecca King who is also a member of the Miami City Ballet.

A six year veteran of the company, King inspired her fellow dancers to don Heat gear for Thursday's practice.

"It is big day for the Heat and I wore mine on Tuesday, so maybe everybody today thought it would be good to wear it for Game 2," said King.

Fellow dancer Bradley Dunlap, who despite being from Cleveland, has become a die hard Heat fan because he too left the city to advance his career as a dancer in Miami.

"If you are unhappy with an organization in Cleveland you can't really move to another one, you have to leave town," said Dunlap.

Dunlap adds while his move to Miami has been really good for his career, his family is none too thrilled.

"I have tried to work with my family to get over it and to get over their feelings, but Cleveland sports fans are different breed," said Dunlap.

Dunlap said he and his fellow dancers are cautiously optimistic that the Heat will go all the way and be crowned champions, especially King who has tickets to Thursday night's game.

"I can't wait. It is going to be a late night, and even though I have to work it is going to be worth it," said King.
