Gators Take SEC Baseball Title

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Florida Gators are champions of the SEC again. This time, it's the Gators baseball team which claimed the SEC title for the first time since 1991.

The Gators used four pitchers to shutdown the Vanderbilt Commodores, 5-0, in the SEC Championship game. It was the first shutout thrown in an SEC Championship game since Vanderbilt did it to Auburn in 1980.

Starting Gators pitcher Alex Panteliodis pitched 5.1 shutout innings in the game, his first start against an SEC team.

Vanderbilt had been the SEC's most powerful offense before getting blanked on Sunday.
