Gov. Scott Appoints New Judge To Miami-Dade County Court

THE VILLAGES (CBS4) – While in The Villages to sign the state budget, Governor Rick Scott made another important decision to make: appointing a new judge to the Miami-Dade County Court.

Dawn V. Denaro filled that position, and will now serve on the bench for the county.

“Dawn has devoted her legal career to serving the people ofFloridawith diligence and an admirable work ethic,” Governor Scott said. “She understands what it means to be truly dedicated to the pursuit of justice and will serve this Court with dignity and fairness.”

Before Thursday’s appointment, Denaro served as an assistant state attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office since 1993. Denaro is a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, after earning her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.

Denaro will fill the seat left vacant by the recent promotion of Judge Darrin Gayles to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Can she please tell Rick Scott what it means?
