MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Sun Life Stadium is used to hosting football games; but this August, it will play host to one of the top football teams in Europe for an exhibition match.
Monday, the Union of European Football Associations announced FC Barcelona will play an exhibition match against Chivas (CD Guadalajara) on August 3 in Miami.
The game will come after Barcelona plays Manchester United on July 30 in a rematch of the Champions league final set for May 28 in London.
The game will mark the first time that FC Barcelona has ever made an appearance in South Florida. FC Barcelona is a past champion of La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, Spain’s Copa del Rey, and the FIFA World Cup.
Chivas is a past champion of Mexico’s First Division, the CONCACAF Champions Cup, and finished second in South America’s Copa Libertadores.
Tickets are set to go on sale Thursday May 12 at 10 a.m. The tickets will range in price from $30 to $125 and can be purchased from ticketmaster.com or http://www.worldfootballchallenge.com.
Dolphins season ticket holders will have a chance to buy tickets during a presale starting Monday and running through May 11th.
