Davie Police Search For Movie Theater Flasher

DAVIE (CBSMiami) - Some children hoping to be entertained at a Davie movie theater had a show they didn't expect, according to Davie police. They are looking for a man they say exposed himself to kids in a theater and in a parking lot.

The children were visiting the Cinemark theater on Sheridan street in Davie, just off I-75, in early March. Police are now releasing information about the incident hoping someone will recognize the man from a sketch.

"It sucks for the little kids that are in there and have to see that.  I just think that's gross," said movie theater patron Micah Lozon.

The first incident happened March 3, when a child said they were in an empty movie theater when a man exposed himself to them. They described the man as being about 6 feet tall, muscular, and in his mid 30's.

Another child reported being victimized in the parking lot of the theater a few weeks later, on March 16th. The description they have was similar to the one offered by the first child.

The man apparently spoke to at least one of the children, and told them he was a police officer, according to Davie police.

"It's kind of like being naive.  You never think it's going to happen to you.  You get in your car.  You go on a sunny day.  You take your kids to the movies, they are off from school (since) today is good Friday," said parent Susie Kay. "You think nothing bad is ever going to happen to you."

Davie police are asking anyone who recognizes the sketch, or who may have been victimized by the man, to call 954-693-8304.
